I have been a long time lover of blusher, that pop of colour on your cheeks makes such a big difference in my opinion. However being an avid user of powder blushes, a few months ago I thought it was time to branch out and check out cream and liquid blushes.
Contender Number 1 - Powder - Ah powder blush, the things you do to me! One of my all time favourite powder blushes is Rockateur by Benefit, it's the perfect rose gold, pink slightly shimmery shade. I love how this one goes onto my skin, it's so easy to blend, really pigmented and doesn't dry my skin out at all.
Contender Number 2 - Cream - I decided to pick up the Bourjois Cream Blush in Rose Tender, I felt like this blush isn't very pigmented, it took quite a while to layer it up and get some colour to show! Then when I eventually did it all went downhill, this blush was terrible to blend, either stuck in one area or completely disappeared off my face!
Contender Number 3 - Liquid - Again a new one to me, I've got a high end and a drugstore tester for each one, I picked Rimmer Stay Blushed Liquid Cheek Tint in Sunkissed Cherry and Benefit's Benetint. Firstly the Rimmel one isn't really that liquid, more of a cream but in a tube. With this one I found it stained one area of my cheek and didn't blend well. However with Benetint, which is very liquid, a little scary at first, didn't stain my cheeks at all and blended in nicely using my fingers.
Overall my winner would definitely be Powder! I feel I should give another brand a go with the Cream and I was impressed with the high end Liquid, but still my love it still with Powder! What blush do you use?
Even though it's easier to apply liquid blushers than it might seem at first, I still prefer to work with powders - I'm just more comfortable with it and don't worry as much about getting it completely wrong LOL :o) Xx
