Recently Baker Days got in touch and asked if I would like to try one of their Letterbox cakes, if you're a frequent reader of my blog, you'll know that cake speaks to my soul, so I obviously said yes! There wasn't any occasions coming up that I could get the cake for, so I went for a little design that says 'All You Need is Love'. There is a wide variety of designs for the cakes for all occasions, but if none of those take your fancy you can upload your own image for the cake, as well as being able to customise names etc on the cakes.
Cakes through your letterbox would've seemed crazy a few years ago, like Joey on Friends with his fax machine that prints out turkey...I think the idea is super innovative and has been executed perfectly. The cakes come in lovely tins, designed just as nicely as the cakes and keeps the cake safe! The packaged also comes with a little card, some candle, a party blower and balloons which I think is a lovely touch.
The cakes retail for £14.99, they're sealed for freshness and have about 3-4 portions per cake. The cakes are super delicious, it's not all about novelty here and they taste great. The standard flavour is vanilla sponge but other flavours can be chosen for an added price. Other sized cakes can also be chosen but they wouldn't come through the letterbox!
