I heard about Pulp Fiction in Whitley Bay a few weeks ago and as I've been making a real effort to change my lifestyle and eating habits, a new healthy food cafe sounded amazing! There aren't many cafes around me that specialise in 'clean eating', I hate that term but it's the best way to describe it!

The cafe is in a prime location in Whitley Bay, super easy to get to. They have a huge range of juices and smoothies and different foodie specials every day. We loved the decor, it's super retro with lovely vintage crockery and cutlery. They also feature different art available to buy on the walls as well as offering a book exchange with the profits going to charity.

It was a horrible rainy day when we visited so for drinks we both went for the superfood hot chocolate, made with raw cacao, maca powder, almond milk, nutmeg and cinnamon which was super delicious, amazing for a cold dreary day.

For food we decided on the Clean Quiche, which was made with pesto and mediterranean vegetables. With the quiche you can pick something from the salad bar (not your typical salad bar!), I picked thai quinoa and my mam went for moroccan couscous. You also get a bed of salad leaves and a dip of your choice, we both went for hummus. Honestly this was one of the most delicious plates of food I've ever had, my mam thought the same. If you know someone who thinks healthy food can't taste amazing, bring them here!

I was so impressed with Pulp Fiction, I will definitely be back, there is so much more I'd like to try! Their breakfasts also sound lovely, as well as their smoothies and juices! Not to mention the clean desserts they offer. I was surprised that this cafe is actually very good value for money, I find that with 'health food' cafes their prices can be super high, but not here! There is a lovely laid back vibe but the service is great and super quick, I won't hesitate to return!
