Last week me and my boyfriend went along to one of the events hosted by the Vamos! Festival, which is a Mexican themed festival in Newcastle. The event that took our fancy was Mexican Wrestling at the Boiler Shop. The Boiler Shop is a monthly event featuring street food/music/drinks etc and is always loads of fun. Me and my boyfriend are massive foodies and like to go along often.
We sampled lots of food on offer, Mexican enchiladas, Lebanese Chicken from Papa Ganoush, French camembert from Elodie Camembert served with crusty bread divine! Chicken wings from Coop Chicken House, cajun fries from The Fat Hippo, doughnuts from The Doughnut Guy (choose salted caramel sauce and pecans, you won't be disappointed!) and more, washing it down with a pint of beer for my boyfriend and cider for me from the Wylam Brewery.
The Mexican wrestling was hilariously entertaining as presumed! We were a little tempted to buy the Mexican wrestling masks that were for sale...I fancied myself as a bit of a Ray Mysterio! Of course there were other treats on offer, crepes, cakes, Argentinian plates, pizza, Indian and more, something for everyone!
If you live in the North East I would highly recommend a visit to the regular Boiler Shop Steamer events, at the beginning of every month, such amazing street food and atmosphere!
Haha this is a great idea for an event - looks so fun! The food looks incredible as well. That fried chicken... mmmm. Love your photos!
