Picnic Cinema is something I've been desperate to try since last Summer. Eventually this year I got tickets for my boyfriend for his birthday! The events are run by Eden Arts and are based at locations all over the country. The closest one to us was in Hamsterly Forest in Durham. Luckily I was really pleased with the theme which was The Undead Ball and the film showing was The Evil Dead. Such a classic, my boyfriend hadn't seen it before but I was dying to see what he thought of it.

For £20 each we had tickets for the entertainment and camping for the night, which is super reasonable. We arrived at 6pm and pitched our tent. You can bring as much food and drink as you like so we tucked into our picnic and cracked open the drinks. At 8pm we moved over to the area with the screen, armed with our camping chairs and snacks.

There were lots of people in zombie fancy dress so the night started off with a zombie catwalk where you voted for the best, so funny! After that there was a zombie themed quiz, which was a massive fail! At around 10pm the film started, the staff set off some smoke bombs to add to the creepy atmosphere!

We both loved the film, the group mentality was super fun and everyone was really into it, some hilarious moments! Luckily the weather was dry, although chilly! I would definitely recommend this event to anyone, we both had a great time, even though I'm not a camping person, the experience was fab!

If you enjoyed this post I would love if you would consider nominating me in the North East Blogger Awards under Best Looking Blog, details here!
