You know that feeling where you've been skint for so long you just NEED to treat yourself to something you've been lusting after for so long?! Well that's what resulted in me buying the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit. I'm sure everyone and their grandma knows the hype surrounding this product and I just couldn't wait to give it a go myself! The packaging feels great, although I can imagine it getting very grubby!

I purchased the kit in the Light to Medium shade range, as a Casper the friendly ghost lookalike, I thought it would be the best! Obviously it's a little on the pricy side, I purchased this one from Beauty Bay for £39, although they do have free delivery which is always a bonus! I went for the original version as opposed to the cream version, just because I feel more comfortable working with powders. The shades are a range of stain and matte, starting on the top row from L-R, Vanilla (a peachy nude), Banana (a yellow toned nude), Sand (a soft beige), Java (a soft mocha), Fawn (a toffee nude) and Havana (a coffee brown).

I think powders are quite hard to describe, I think that they sit differently on all different skins so it can be a little hit and miss, but I'll give you my take on them! So in my opinion, they definitely live up to the hype! The powders are gorgeously smooth and soft and just glide onto the skin. All the different shades do their jobs perfectly and I've found that most of them are a good shade match to my skin tone. They're super pigmented so you only need to dab your brush in, which is great since I'm sure this will last ages!
Have you tried the Anastasia Contour Kit?

It's on my wishlist! I can't quite justify it yet, though. Glad it lives up to the hype.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely, it's fab! :) x
DeleteContouring is just something I'm too scared to try in case I end up looking like A) a clown or B) like the worst fake tan disaster ever! So many people rave about this product, maybe I should take the plunge and give it a try xo

I was the same at first, especially since I'm super pale, I think a light hand is key! I'd definitely recommend it! :) x
