North East Visits | Jesmond Food Market

Me and Steven have been going to Jesmond Food Market since it began, don't know why I've only just thought to do a little post on it! Set up on Armstrong Bridge over Jesmond Dene, the market has a great variety of foodie goods. The market is on once a month, the third Saturday of the month if I'm not mistaken. There's lots of familiar foodie faces here and lots of yummy things to try! Somewhere I love getting baked good from is the Pink Lane Bakery, they have delicious sausage rolls (I'll take Stevens word for that!), cinnamon rolls, brownies, bread you name it!

I've said before that Asian cuisine is probably my all time favourite, so when Nan Bei popped up here me and Steven were so excited! We've been to their shop in the Grainger Market so we knew we were in for a treat! Here they specialise in dumplings, I always go for the egg and mushroom, so so good! Steven normally has the pork or chicken and a bbq pork bun. I opt for a sweet steamed bun which I'd definitely recommend, a soft doughy but super light bun, warm and filled with custard, amazing!

Somewhere that's a fail safe is Papa Ganoush, who always serve up delicious middle eastern cuisine (we're eagerly awaiting their restaurant!). They serve either Chicken Shawarma or Falafel in a flatbread with salad. These are some of the most delicious wraps I've ever had, the amount of flavour they're able to pack in is unreal! They always have the biggest queue but trust me, it's worth the wait! I've also had halloumi fries from here too...amazing!

If you're looking for something to do on a Saturday I'd definitely recommend checking the market out, there really is something for everyone, some of my other favourites that pop up here include The Doughnut Guy, Fat Hippo, The Sweet Beet and Scream For Pizza. You can expect The French Pop Up, Longhorns BBQ, Harissa Kitchen, North Chocolates, The Fudge Parlour, Northumberland Cheese, Geordie Bangers and much more!
